In the evenings, we offer a warm and welcoming
atmosphere for children. A fresh snack is served and children are encouraged to
help prepare it. They have the freedom to choose their activities and decide
who they want to work with. Although they enjoy this autonomy, the guide
establishes limits when necessary, ensuring respect for the rights of others.
This helps children learn to balance freedom and responsibility.
At this age, children often show a keen sense of
justice and may "chat" to understand what behaviors are acceptable
within the family or school community. The Montessori guide explains the rules
of the classroom and their practical foundation, helping children see that there
are rules to protect everyone's rights. When children understand this, they
themselves willingly follow and uphold the rules.
